Hackney CVS is looking for a Development Manager to lead our Organisational Development work and strengthen support for the voluntary and community sector (VCS) across Hackney and the City of London.

Support Dogs is a energetic, pioneering, national charity provding vital life saving and life changing support for individuals and families affected by autism, epilepsy and disability

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, motivated, and driven individual to join our client services team within our assistance dog training department.

Previous experience of training dogs, using positive based methods, and a full clean driving licence are essential criteria for the post.

Desirable qualities are experience in teaching or recognised teaching qualification, awareness in varying disabilities and a recognised qualification in animal training/behaviour.
 
The role will consist of the assessing individuals and families as they apply to our charity’s assistance dog programmes for those affected by autism, epilepsy and physical disability.

You will also be required to provide training, support and guidance to individuals and families who have successfully graduated through our assistance dog programme. This includes ensuring they receive annual assessments and giving appropriate advice/ support and extra training as required throughout the dogs working lives. You will also support the preparation as older working dogs move towards retirement and the process to supply potential replacement dogs for those individuals.

Based at our national centre in Sheffield, the applicant will be required to lone work off site for periods of time, so must show the ability to work alone effectively, prioritise their workload, accordingly, use their own initiative and have excellent time management and communicational skills.They are to demonstrate a real passion for the role, a positive attitude and show flexibility within their work.

The role of Counsellor is to guide and mentor campers in their day to day experience of camp. Counsellors are by campers' side throughout their journey, encouraging and supporting them along the way.

Main responsibilities include:

Camper Support and Supervision

• Supervise campers in residential and activity groups, ensuring you know where campers are at all times.

• Support campers in their day-to-day needs, including proactively supporting campers emotional and physical wellbeing and managing camper behaviour.

Demand for our specialist tutoring programmes for Children Looked After, those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) and Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC) continues to increase and we are seeking a dedicated and effective Partnerships Account Manager to join our team and support the increased demand for our provision and the continued scaling of our organisation.

The Organisation

Equal Education is a social enterprise working to improve outcomes and narrow the attainment gap for disadvantaged and vulnerable learners, including Children Looked After, those with SEND, and unaccompanied asylum seeking children. We have over 13 years’ experience delivering 1:1 tuition, working with hundreds of Schools and Local Authority partners across the country, reaching hundreds of pupils annually. 

As a member of the Fair Education Alliance, we believe in providing meaningful educational provision to students whose needs may not be best met within a traditional classroom environment, those who aren’t currently accessing education, or who benefit from additional 1:1 support. We work with over 200 qualified teachers to provide academic, subject specialised and individual tutoring and mentoring for children of all ages. Tutors provide pastoral care and work with pupils to increase engagement and attainment. Our programmes will help the students to overcome barriers to learning, help them build trusted relationships, increase their aspirations, and fulfil their potential. What is the Role?
In this role, you will drive business growth by securing new partnerships and managing key client accounts across designated regions. With a focus on building and sustaining long-term local council and school relationships, you will work closely with clients to understand their needs, expand our service offerings, and ensure the highest levels of satisfaction. As the majority of our key client relationships are with local councils, we are looking for someone with knowledge of how they operate.

The post holder will have the opportunity to line manage junior member(s) of the team, who provide essential bid-writing and administrative support to facilitate efficient and effective client management.

This role would suit someone with proven ability to operate effectively in scaling organisations where processes are still being defined. This role suits someone who is adaptable, resilient, and confident working at pace amid change.

The role will be suited to those who have worked within an education setting and held the title: SENCO, Head of Department, Advisory Teacher, Inclusion Coordinator or Designated Teacher. The role will also be suited to those who have worked within a Local Authority setting and held the title: Commissioning Officer, Senior Case Officer, Case Officer. Whilst the role is also suited for an experienced (key) account/client manager, we are looking for an individual who has experience and/or knowledge of the UK education system.

Key Responsibilities:

   • Monitor client engagement, satisfaction levels, and service outcomes; produce regular progress reports for management.

   • Oversee tracking and analysis of client-related statistics to ensure targets are met and clients receive impactful, value-driven service.

   • Manage and track client data and prospect pipelines using CRM systems, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date information.

   • Report to the the Partnerships Director on accounts, Tenders, Bids, client meetings on a regular basis.

   • Be curious to explore our Salesforce system data, understanding and interpreting delivery and impact data. 

4. Line Management and Support Coordination

   • Lead, mentor, and manage junior member(s) of the team focused on bid/application writing, tender management, and client-related administration.

   • Support junior member(s) in producing and reviewing high-quality application documents and responses that align with client requirements and enhance our partnership outcomes.

   • Provide oversight to ensure that administrative tasks are completed efficiently, supporting smooth client interactions and consistent follow-through.

   • Work with other area leaders, to ensure strong delivery of services.

   • Contribute to, and foster strong internal working relationships to successfully delivery against strategy and objectives.. 

5. Bid Management and Process Improvement

   • Oversee the preparation and submission of tenders and bid applications, working closely with junior member(s) to ensure high-quality and timely submissions.

   • Continuously review and improve internal processes to optimise bid management, client onboarding, and service delivery.

   • Report on bid submission performance, review bidfeedback to continuously improve. 

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Detailed knowledge of the UK education sector. 

• Experience working in the education sector or with local authorities, particularly in roles involving SEND or children’s services.

• Proven track record in client relationship management, with experience in sales or partnership development roles.

• Strong communication skills, particularly in face-to-face and telephone interactions, with the ability to build rapport quickly and maintain long-lasting relationships.

• Experience managing a small team, providing leadership, direction, and support to ensure high-performance standards.

• High level of empathy and commitment to supporting vulnerable and underserved communities.

• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet both short- and long-term deadlines effectively.

• Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) for tracking client data, leads, and progress.

• Proactive, problem-solving mindset, able to address issues independently and provide client-focused solutions.

• Able to work in a high pressure environment, whilst taking initiative, we would want the postholder to ask for support when needed.

Desirable:

• Exceptional written communication skills, with proven confidence in drafting, editing, and refining persuasive content across a variety of formats.

• Experience in bid and tender writing or grant applications is advantageous, though a background in producing compelling written materials for diverse purposes is equally valued.

You will play a crucial role in making sure our volunteer-focused Learning and Development function runs smoothly and effectively. You will be the first point of contact for learning and development queries, helping volunteers and colleagues resolve issues. What you’ll be doing

As Senior Programme Coordinator, you'll help make sure that support reaches as many young people as possible and that it's delivered to a consistently high standard.

You'll lead a small team of sports coaches and youth mentors, helping them plan great sessions, develop their practice and overcome the day-to-day challenges that come with the job. You'll also build and maintain strong relationships with schools, alternative provisions and community partners to keep programmes running smoothly.

This is a hands-on role. Alongside keeping regional delivery on track, you'll still spend time working directly with young people: being a positive presence, modelling good practice and helping create the kind of safe, engaging environments where young people can thrive.

You'll also take the lead on the activities that go beyond our weekly sessions such as organising holiday programmes, Career Taster Days, regional trips and events that give young people experiences they wouldn't otherwise have. These are some of the most rewarding parts of the role and a real chance to see young people shine in a different context.

Building relationships in the community is a big part of this too. You'll get to know the local area, embed yourself in the networks around it and find partners, venues and opportunities that help deepen out work and enhance our engagement with young people.

You don't need to know anything about rugby to do this job well. What matters is your ability to connect with young people and the communities around them.

We are building a world class digital learning library that supports doctors at every stage of their careers strengthening professional development, improving clinical practice, and ultimately enhancing patient care.

To help us achieve this, we’re looking for a proactive and detail driven production specialist who can bring clarity, structure and momentum to our digital learning production workflows. As our Digital Learning Production Scheduler, you will own the end to end production lifecycle of multiple digital learning resources: from scoping and scheduling through design, development, quality assurance and release.

What you’ll be doing

• Plan, track and coordinate digital learning production across multiple projects
• Keep schedules and trackers up to date, ensuring everyone has a clear view of deadlines, dependencies and risks
• Work closely with our Learning Designers, Digital Content Developers, SMEs and Project Leads to keep delivery on track
• Maintain strong production processes — intake, prioritisation, reviews, approvals and release
• Proactively identify risks, bottlenecks and slippage, working with the Digital Learning Manager and Digital Learning Project Manager to keep projects moving
• Support rigorous quality assurance, version control and release management
• Contribute to continuous improvement of processes, documentation and production standards

This is a hands on, highly collaborative role at the heart of our digital learning operation.

What you bring

• Proven experience coordinating digital learning or e learning production, from planning to release
• Confidence managing multiple concurrent workflows with clarity and composure
• Strong organisational and scheduling skills — you love a good tracker!
• Experience supporting QA processes, media checks and issue tracking
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work smoothly with a wide range of stakeholders included external contributors and SMEs
• A highly detail oriented approach and commitment to maintaining consistent standards
• Confidence using project management and collaboration tools such as Asana, Jira, Teams or SharePoint

Experience with SCORM/xAPI standards, accessibility (WCAG), and working with freelancers or external suppliers is desirable, but not essential.

• Significant experience in a senior operational leadership role, ideally as a COO, Head of Operations or Director of Operations in a charity, social enterprise or purpose-driven organisation.

• Demonstrable track record of building and improving operational infrastructure: systems, processes, policies and ways of working that make organisations more effective and resilient.

• Proven people management experience, including line management of senior staff, performance development, recruitment and team culture-building.

• Strong financial literacy, including experience of budget management, grant compliance, financial reporting and working with a board finance function.

• Experience of leading or supporting governance processes, including board reporting, risk management and compliance.

About Free From Harm

Free From Harm is our training programme on obstetric violence, birth trauma, informed consent, respectful maternity care and rights-based practice. It supports maternity professionals and related practitioners to recognise harm in perinatal care, understand how discrimination and power shape people's experiences, and strengthen safer, more respectful and more accountable practice.

The opportunity

As Free From Harm grows, we are building a pool of trusted freelance facilitators to co-deliver the programme to participant groups across England.

This is a self-employed contractor opportunity, offered on an assignment-by-assignment basis from August 2026. The day rate is £250. In addition, facilitators may earn affiliate commission of 20% of the relevant booking value where a booking is directly attributable to them through an agreed referral or sales route. This gives facilitators with existing networks in maternity, midwifery, NHS, public health or related sectors the opportunity to increase their earnings beyond the day rate. Any commission arrangement will be confirmed in writing.

Joining the pool does not guarantee minimum work or continuing engagement. Each assignment will be agreed in advance, including dates, location, preparation expectations and fees.

Who we are looking for

We are looking for facilitators who can hold complex, emotionally honest and sometimes challenging conversations with care, clarity and courage.

You may have come to this work through facilitation, maternity advocacy, midwifery, doula work, clinical education, community organising, activism, public health, reproductive rights, lived experience or another route entirely.

We are especially interested in people who bring:

• Knowledge of obstetric violence, birth trauma, informed consent and respectful maternity care
• Understanding of trauma-informed practice and psychological safety in group settings
• A genuine anti-racist, anti-discrimination and intersectional approach
• Experience facilitating groups where difficult, activating or sensitive material arises
• Confidence naming harm, power, coercion and structural causes clearly and directly
• Co-facilitation experience, including joint planning, delivery and debrief
